Battle Angel Alita

via Zamise:
"Its from Battle Angel Alita, Angel of Redemption Vol. 5 Season of Revenge, Battle 23: Lost Sheep. Story and Art by Yukito Kishiro.

Rumor is that it might be made into a big movie next year by James Cameron with that 3D CGI glassesless phillips technology. Supposedly he bought the rights to the story and has been working on it along with some Avtar movie which I know little to nothing about, but its been in the works for a while already. I've only ever really liked or have followed Battle Angel manga & anime. If it goes over well with Cameron's version, I'm thinking this part of the story that this drawing is from would hopefully make it into the begging of the second movie of maybe 3 movies about her."

Looks legit to me: 2009 on imdb
Volume 5: Angel Of Redemption on Amazon

  1. I rediscovered the original anime adaptation only a few weeks ago. I remembered watching it as a kid on SBS in australia and spent quite a while on google trying to find the name of it.

Great story about cyborgs.. I'm not into much anime manga stuff, but I always remembered watching this one.

Look forward to the james cameron contribution.

  2. Been reading about this two over two years now on Aint It Cool News... didn't know about the synth scene here though. Also don't know how an old Underwood-style typewriter would assist in even a fictional synth rig (see pic)! :o)

There is another page in the graphic novel of this part of the story, but this is the cooler of the two. Get the book if want to see it. Go watch the movie/movies when they come out, support it if like it, and hope they include some more wild synth stuff. I've only read up to Vol 5, so there could me more in the novels, I don't know yet????
