"The third installment in my Roland Boutique Acid Jam series. All sounds are from the TB-03, TR-08 and TR-09. Audio Damage iOS effects Dubstation 2 and Eos 2 used for Delay and Reverb, respectively. Mixed live in Kymatica AUM (iOS). There's a bit of audio clipping mostly in the first minute."

Mutable Instruments Braids As Drum Machine

"In this fun little video I'm using the Tall Dog uBraids SE (based on Mutable Instruments Braids Eurorack module) as a drum machine. This is accomplished by using META mode, which allows precise selection of the synth engines through CV. In this case, I'm using the Snazzy FX Ardcore (purple module on the bottom left) as a four step sequencer that is sending CV to the FM input on the uBraids to select KICK-CYMB-SNAR-TOY* to create the drum pattern. I'm using the Sequins app on the o_C (Ornament & Crime) into the 1V/Oct input of the uBraids to create the note sequence. These modules are triggered from Pamela's New Workout. The effects are added in real-time by turning knobs on the Novation Launch Control XL (out of the picture) that is mapped to DDMf Envelope for Reverb and Audio Damage Dubstation 2 for stereo delay. The panning is also done in real-time using Kymatica AUM (iOS mixer app) which also hosts the effects. Hope you enjoy it! Peace \/.

Note: I could've simplified this patch by using the o_C for both sequences instead of using the Ardcore, but I'm new to the o_C and forgot that the Sequins app has two independent sequencers."

Eurorack Modular Trance Live Performance

"My first try at a full Trance song using the Eurorack modules plus the Korg Volca Sample for drums. The drums are actually triggered from the Eurorack using Ddrum ddti CV trigger to MIDI box that is just off the camera on the left (you can see all 10 patch cables wrapped together).

Patch design:

Pamela's New Workout is the master clock and is triggering drum samples in the Volca, the sub/acid bass sequence in the Kraftzwerg, the mid bass sequence in the o_C which is sequencing the Disting mk2 saw wave through one side of the Korgasmatron low pass filter into the uVCA and the Disting mk4 which is sequencing the uBraids supersaw through the other side of the Korgasmatron low pass filter into the uVCA. o_C sequence has its own envelopes, while the Disting VCF/VCA are modulated using the Make Noise Function. All audio outputs are mixed in the Doepfer 138c where they are sent into the Behringer UMC 1820 audio interface connected to my iPad mini 4.

Generative Modular Trance Melody

"I wanted to see if I could create a patch that would generate a Trance arpeggio sequence without manually creating one. Pam is rotating through four CV patterns that affect the quantizer. Even though there is randomness to the patterns, the fact that they cycle gives the pseudo-sequence a repeating effect. Drums are supplied by Korg Volca Sample which is outside the camera view. If you're wondering what happened to my Mother-32, I had to send it out for repairs. I'll probably use the space to get some smaller modules and use the Mother-32 as a stand-alone semi-modular around the house. Stay tuned.

"Growing up, I used to listen to a radio show called Uncle Jamm's Army on KDAY back when it was on AM radio. The reception wasn't too good where I lived, but it never stopped me from tuning in each weekend. One of my favorite songs from that show was Twilight 22 - Electric Kingdom. There's a ton of samples in this song so this is my own rendition using synths that I programmed from scratch. Of course, the Roland Boutique TR-08 is used for the beat. Hope you enjoy it!

"My humble attempt at remaking the classic Michael Jackson song using the Social Entropy Engine as the MIDI sequencer. All patterns were sequenced from scratch by ear. I thought it would be more fun to watch if I selected the patterns in real time instead of programmed the whole song.
